OUR APPROACH
We build for clients who are not simply constructing a residence, but creating a long-term place for family, privacy, wellness, gathering, and stewardship. These homes carry financial weight, emotional significance, and architectural ambition. They require a builder capable of leading with clarity before construction begins and precision through every phase of execution. Our work extends across Utah’s most significant mountain communities, where complex sites, exacting architecture, and long-term stewardship demand a highly disciplined approach. Our process is designed to protect three forms of security:
FINANCIAL SECURITY
We treat our client’s capital with the seriousness it deserves. That means disciplined preconstruction, accurate cost planning, transparent reporting, early identification of financial exposure, and clear communication around the implications of every major decision. This structure is particularly valuable for out-of-state and international clients, family offices, and owner’s representatives overseeing a complex mountain residence from a distance.
We would rather surface a financial consideration early than defer a difficult conversation until it becomes a change during construction.
Our cost planning is designed to create confidence before construction begins and maintain it throughout the project. Across completed projects, Vitruvius Built has maintained exceptionally tight variance to established cost estimates, including a flagship project delivered within 0.5% of the preconstruction estimate and ahead of schedule. The objective is not simply accurate reporting. It is disciplined stewardship of the client’s capital from the earliest decisions through completion.
EMOTIONAL SECURITY
Luxury construction is personal. It requires trust, steadiness, and communication that reduces ambiguity rather than adding noise. We establish a clear rhythm at the outset of each project so clients know where things stand, what decisions are coming, and what risks or opportunities need attention. Complexity is normal. Confusion is not.
CREATIVE SECURITY
Vitruvius Built does not provide architecture or interior design. We partner with leading architecture and design firms and treat their creative intent as something to be protected. Our role is to support the design team through constructability insight, cost clarity, engineering coordination, procurement planning, field execution, and meticulous craftsmanship.
The best homes are created when the client, architect, designer, builder, consultants, and owner’s representative are aligned early and communicated clearly.
COMMUNICATION
We will tell you what we know when we know it. We will surface problems early and come to you with solutions, not just news. You will hear from us regularly. You will never have to wonder where things stand.
Our communication standard is not reactive. We do not wait for clients to ask. We establish a rhythm at the outset, structured around your preferences and the natural cadence of the project, and we hold to it. Weekly updates, milestone documentation, and real-time access to project financials are not features we offer on request. They are how we operate.
PRINCIPAL LED SERVICE
Vitruvius Built takes on a limited number of projects by design and is highly selective about the clients and homes we choose to work with. This allows Vitruvius Built to provide a level of principal-led service, access, and attention that is difficult to achieve at scale.
Our clients benefit from direct principal-level access, weekly senior leadership involvement, disciplined decision-making, and a team that remains deeply engaged in the details from preconstruction through completion.
Every home receives the focus it deserves because we have built our firm to protect that standard. Our model is intentional: fewer projects, deeper leadership involvement, and a higher level of service for the clients and projects we are uniquely suited to serve.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
We build what the best architects and designers in the world conceive. Our role is to protect that vision at every stage of construction and to execute with the level of craft that architecturally significant homes demand.
Craftsmanship at our standard requires more than skilled tradespeople. It requires continuity: the same team from pre-construction through delivery, no handoffs, no transitions, no loss of institutional knowledge mid-project. Every detail is held to the same standard, from the tolerances on a custom millwork installation to the alignment of stone coursework on a 40-foot wall. The homes we build are meant to endure for generations. We build accordingly.

FOUNDER+CEO
Charles Ochello is the Founder and CEO of Vitruvius Built, a luxury residential construction firm based in Park City, Utah. His professional background spans emergency medicine, real estate development, and more than 20 years of complex residential and commercial construction across New Orleans, Nassau, Exuma, and Park City.
The disciplines are different, but the operating principles are remarkably similar: diagnose early, understand risk, communicate clearly, assemble the right specialists, and execute precisely when the consequences of poor decisions are high. That mindset continues to shape how Vitruvius Built approaches preconstruction, financial stewardship, project leadership, and the execution of architecturally significant homes.
Charles has a longstanding interest in the role of technology in construction and in the preservation of significant architecture. His restoration work in the French Quarter of New Orleans was featured in Scott Hanson’s Restoring Your Historic House.
Outside the firm, Charles enjoys skiing, surfing, hiking, and traveling with his wife, Lindsay, and their three children. He is a member of Marcella Club and serves on the board of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

COO
Patrick has extensive experience in luxury residential construction over the past decade. He relishes the opportunity to execute at the highest level and has accrued an extensive level of experience during his career. He is an excellent communicator, and his positive energy is felt both in the office and on the job sites. In his free time, Patrick loves all things outdoors. He especially enjoys fly fishing on the Provo and Weber Rivers and taking backcountry hikes with friends and family.
